Gradacac Castle

Located on a hill in a town of the same name, this castle was built between 1765 and 1824 on the Roman foundations.

During the rule of the Husein-Captain Gradaščević, a Bosniak general which is often referred to as the Dragon of Bosnia, the town of Gradačac was considered as one of the most prosperous captaincies in Bosnia.

That is also when the reconstruction of the whole Gradačac area commenced and a 22-meter high watchtower was added to the castle.

After you're finished with looking around the castle, climb up to the top of the tower where you can try some local dishes whilst admiring the stunning views of the town and the surrounding nature.
