With a length of 77 kilometers, Lake Balaton is the largest lake in central Europe, also known in Hungary as "The Hungarian Sea".

Due to its continental climate, Balaton remains a tourist attraction throughout the year.

During the summer months, you can cool off from the Hungarian heat at one of many beach resorts along the shoreline.

In winter, the surface of the lake can freeze over and when it's thick enough you can go ice skating and even ice sailing.

Balaton Lake offers many more, from Hungarian delicacies that you can try at one of the restaurants on the shore, to the thermal resorts where you can relax and heal your body.
